[Introduction] Thank you for choosing Le Bavardeur! Le Bavardeur is based on 25 years' experience in the design and development of technical voice aids to compensate for disabilities. It is continually updated in response to users' comments and requests. Le Bavardeur is vocalised by your screen reader, such as NVDA or JAWS. You must therefore start your screen reader before using Le Bavardeur. The ergonomics of the Bavardeur are based on its use with the keyboard. Le Bavardeur has a classic graphical interface made up of menus and dialogue boxes. The dialogue boxes contain objects such as text boxes, lists, buttons, etc. To interact with Le Bavardeur, you will need to use the standard keyboard keys, such as the Alt key to go to the menus, the Tab key to navigate through the dialogue boxes, the Enter key to confirm actions, the Escape key to cancel an action or close a dialogue box, and so on. To reduce the number of tabs in certain dialog boxes that have a lot of functionality, you will come across action lists. These action lists allow you to select an action to be performed in the dialog box, either using the arrow keys or the first letter of the action name. The action is then triggered by pressing Enter. The keyboard shortcuts are also the same as in the past, for example Ctrl + O to open, CTRL + W to close, CTRL + C to copy, etc... The help on using the Bavardeur has been produced without using the keyboard shortcuts. [Confirmation of actions in Le Bavardeur] Many actions are confirmed in Le Bavardeur in order to inform the novice user of the change that has been made following the triggering of an action.
